Welcome to the official Bartimaeus Trilogy website, featuring masses of information about Jonathan Stroud’s The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem’s Eye and Ptolemy’s Gate.

And now, a short word from Bartimaeus . . .

Listen, this section is nothing to do with me. That's the first thing to say. I'm only introducing it because of a small sub-clause in an Official Charge that escaped my notice a year or two back. Unfortunately the author didn't forget. Like elephants, authors are – nothing contractual escapes them. Well, after some good-natured debate, which left scorchmarks in the walls of his study, I am henceforth obliged to show you every courtesy in your visit. So now here I am, positively 'delighted' and 'thrilled' to share your fragrant human company and show you round this area of the site.

These pages revolve around the prestigious and admirably named 'Bartimaeus Trilogy', a mostly true account about one of my lesser adventures. Check out the Author section for a 'wonderful variety' (It says here) of authorial bits and pieces, including notes, chapter plans, alternative chapters and lost bits. If, like most people, you find words a little taxing, you could try the pretty pictures in the Books section instead. You'll find a Golem Creation Spell there too. (Try it at home. It's perfectly safe. Honest.) But a better plan would be to head straight for Bart's Guide to London, since that's hugely entertaining and witty, i.e. written by me. There's also a scarcely literate paragraph or two from Kitty's Historical Notes, which fills in some background to the Trilogy.

With my usual modesty, I won't draw attention to the best bit of all, which is a BARTIMAEUS JOURNAL  As usual, my words here are sober, restrained and morally instructive.

Anything else? Um… Oh yes, there's info about the Books kicking about as well.

That should be enough for you to be getting on with. Right. I'm off. Job done.
